The joyous woman represents the natural, wild woman. She is free to dance wherever she wants. Although barefoot in the air, she will need red shoes to protect her feed on the ground. The skeleton is a reminder of the impermanence of all things, while the red shoe in the skeleton's left hand is a reminder of the self-made life that gives joy and of the life-force that does not die.
